Coast2Bay Housing wishes to inform residents and interested community members that a Development Application has been lodged and is now available for public comment.
Coast2Bay plans to develop the site to provide 25 apartments for social housing. These homes will provide accommodation for approximately 35 residents on the Qld Housing Register with an urgent need for housing, including seniors and small families.
The project, majority funded by the Queensland Government, will help alleviate housing insecurity faced by residents in Cooroy and the Shire of Noosa.
The proposed design includes 15 1-bedroom units and 10 2-bedroom units, all with a high level of accessibility to meet the needs of the future tenants.
Proposed design features include:
- Apartments arranged over 2 storeys across 2 separate buildings with centrally located parking for residents and visitors.
- Architecturally designed with reference to the Cooroy heritage character.
- Lush landscaping throughout including elevated and breezeway planters at level 1, communal seating areas and veggie gardens for resident use.
- On-site communal room, for a range of tenant engagement activities for residents.
Construction is forecast to commence in late 2026 which could see tenants moving in by the end of 2027. Coast2Bay would manage the homes and support the tenants to welcome them into the local community.
